Warum ist ein Keinachtsbaum® nachhaltig?

The main argument for the sustainability of a Keinachtsbaum® is, of course, that from now on no tree has to be cut down to put up a beautiful Christmas tree. But that alone is not enough for us! We only use sustainably grown ash wood for production, do not use plastic at all and produce with small local craft businesses. No more trees need to be felled for our cut greenery, as we harvest 100% of it from specially created cut greenery areas. Crops planted in this way could become part of the forest stand after around 25 years of use and theoretically become very old. And to ensure that the trees are not only preserved, but even increased through the use of a Keinachtsbaum®, we plant one new tree per order.

Woher bekomme ich mein Schnittgrün?

Cut greenery in 5 kilo bundles is already a standard item. You can get it from your local Christmas tree seller, directly from the producer or conveniently from our online store.
If you prefer to buy locally, make sure it’s fresh! In the retail trade, cut greenery is often harvested as early as October and will age within a very short time when you bring it into the warm room. We therefore strongly recommend buying directly from a producer. This is the only way to obtain the necessary quality and help him to make good use of his waste.

Incidentally, we only harvest the cut greenery in our store 2-3 days before dispatch to ensure maximum shelf life.
As we source 100% of our cut greenery from pure cut green areas, you can also be sure that the tree from which the branches for your Keinachtsbaum® come really does live on.
We also offer different types of cut greenery so that you can vary the shelf life, color and smell.

Ah yes: If you are one of the lucky people who own your own conifers or have permission from a forester to cut your own greenery in the forest, this is of course also possible.

Worauf muss ich achten, wenn ich mein Schnittgrün lokal kaufen möchte?

We can’t stop emphasizing it: Fresh, fresh, fresh! Only if the cut greenery has been harvested shortly before use will it work as a No Christmas Tree®. So it’s best to buy directly from the grower or at least ask when the branches were cut. Cut greenery from discount stores, DIY stores or similar is almost always far too old. Furthermore, the branches should not be too thick. Ideally no more than 2 cm. It would also be good if some of the branches were at least 70cm (for the lower part) and the branches were generally no longer than 1m. The following quantity is recommended:

Up to 100cm – 5 kg
Up to 180cm – 10 kg
Up to 250cm – 15 kg

Wie lange hält sich das Schnittgrün?

As unique as every person is, so too is every tree. It is therefore impossible to give precise information about the shelf life. This applies to any normal Christmas tree as well as to the branches. The decisive factor, however, is definitely the freshness of the cut greenery used. If you buy your cut greenery directly from the grower or from our online store, your Keinachtsbaum® should last just as long as a real fir tree. Periods of 2-4 weeks are possible without any problems.
If you want to keep your tree up longer, simply give it another set of branches or use the Nobilis cut greenery.

Ist euer Schnittgrün Pestizidfrei/Bio-zertifiziert

The short answer: As a rule, the cut greenery in our store is completely untreated!

In our blog article, you can find out why we are not yet able to offer organic green cuttings and why, in some exceptional cases, there may be minimal residues.

If it is treated, we test to ensure that all food limits are met. You can also feed your animals with your cut greenery or eat it yourself – no need to wash it!

Wie baue ich den Keinachtsbaum® auf und wie lange dauert es?

You’ve never put up your own (almost) real tree? No problem. Grab the family and have an experience together.
Duration: 30 – 120 minutes. Depending on how practiced you are and how relaxed you are. Of course, it also depends on the variety you choose and how lush you want your dream tree to be. Each Keinachtsbaum@ also comes with detailed instructions(download assembly(m) instructions). To give you an idea of how the whole process works, we have made a video with lots of tips and tricks:

Brauche ich Werkzeug für den Aufbau?

Not for the body itself. We recommend a pocket knife (remember, always cut away from the body!) and pruning shears for sharpening the greenery. You can order both conveniently in our store.

Wo wird mein Keinachtsbaum® hergestellt?

The Keinachtsbaum® is manufactured in a small factory in Germany.

Wie oft kann ich meinen Keinachtsbaum® wiederverwenden?

The Keinachtsbaum® is a high-quality, solid piece of furniture. If treated properly, it should provide many decades of service and, in the best case, make your great-grandchildren happy. We have models that have been assembled and disassembled 30-40 times and still don’t show the slightest sign of wear. In short: The Keinachtsbaum® is the last Christmas tree of your life 🙂

Kann ich den Keinachtsbaum® ganz normal schmücken?

A Keinachtsbaum® can be decorated like a normal tree, although we recommend that the total weight of the permanent load of 25 kilograms including tree decorations is not exceeded.

Dürfen echte Kerzen verwendet werden?

We strongly advise against using candles or an open fire for the Keinachtsbaum®!
As nice as real fire is, the combination of an open flame and resin-soaked, dry conifer is not a good idea!

Lieferzeit – wann am besten bestellen?

The Keinachtsbaum® has a delivery time of 3-4 days. However, we recommend that you do not wait until shortly before the festive season to place your order, as we only produce a limited number of Keinachtsbäume® every year and they sold out quickly last year. With cut greenery, you can simply specify your preferred date and receive your branches exactly when you need them. For reasons of sustainability, however, we then send the Keinachtsbaum® and the cut greenery together.
In order to guarantee delivery on time for the festive season, we are closing our store on 19.12. at 00:00!
