Bettertree® combines fresh branches and real fir scent with a wooden frame you can reuse year after year. You shape the tree yourself and decide how it should look each Christmas. After the holidays, remove the branches and store the wooden sections until next year. Depending on the model, we use ash, beech or oak, and each tree is crafted in a small workshop in Germany.

Niki is a compact 100 cm and comes with a stand. Lilli has a fixed height of approx. 183 cm including the star topper and is set up in a standard Christmas tree stand. Max is the most flexible: depending on the version, it ranges from 120 to 215 cm, and with Adapter 2 it can reach up to 250 cm. It is available with or without a stand.

This depends on the model. Niki comes with a matching stand. Lilli does not have its own stand and is set up in a standard Christmas tree stand. With Max, it depends on the version you choose whether a stand is included.

Fir branches are not included in the basic price of the individual trees and can be ordered separately. Our sets already include fir branches.

First, set up your Bettertree®. Then add the fresh branches one by one. Depending on the model and the fullness you want, allow around 75 minutes for setup and styling. You can make it part of the Christmas tradition: build the tree together, add the branches, then decorate it together.

For styling your tree, you'll need pruning shears, a knife and ideally a blanket or protective covering for the floor. Depending on the thickness of the branches, you can trim the ends to the right size. You can order pruning shears and a knife from us as well.

Our fir branches come from fir trees grown in Germany and cared for according to our specifications. Only individual branches are cut, so the trees remain standing and can continue to grow. Choose between Nordmann and Nobilis fir branches. Both are freshly cut and shipped with DHL GoGreen Plus. You can also order your fir branches as a subscription.

As a guide, we recommend 5 kg up to 100 cm, 10 kg up to 180 cm and 15 kg up to 250 cm. If you want a particularly full tree, allow a little extra.

Above all, make sure the branches have been freshly cut. It's best to ask when they were cut and choose branches whose ends can be prepared to fit the holes using pruning shears or a knife. You can use our recommended quantities as a guide when deciding how much you need.

Nordmann is rich green, pleasantly soft and particularly easy to work with. Its fir scent is relatively subtle. Nobilis has stronger branches, a more intense fir scent and can range in colour from green to blue-green to silvery. It may require a little more trimming when inserting the branches.

With the right care, the fir branches stay fresh for around three to four weeks. Nobilis branches may stay fresh a little longer. Lightly misting the branches with water can help.

No, our fir branches are not currently certified organic, as our growing sites are not certified organic.

If treatment is necessary, we only use products or methods that are permitted under organic farming standards.

It is important to us to be transparent about this distinction: using products or methods permitted under organic farming standards does not mean that our fir branches are certified organic. For this reason, we do not describe our fir branches as “organic”.

Yes. With our Nature Moment subscription, you receive fresh fir branches once a year. You can choose Nordmann or Nobilis and the quantity that suits your Bettertree®. You can select your delivery date when placing your order and choose a new date individually in each following year.

Yes. Decorate Bettertree® with baubles, fairy lights and your usual Christmas decorations. Each year, you can choose a different look: simple, colourful, traditional or completely your own.

No. Bettertree® is not suitable for real candles. Keep it away from open flames.
