Our FAQs

The most important answers to your questions about the Keinachtsbaum® can be found here:

The main argument for the sustainability of a Keinachtsbaum® is, of course, that from now on no more trees have to be cut down to set up a beautiful Christmas tree. But that alone is not enough for us! We only use sustainably grown ash wood for production, completely avoid plastic, and produce with small local craft businesses. For our cut greens, no more trees need to be felled, as we harvest them 100% from specially cultivated cut green areas. The cultures planted in this way could transition into forest stands after about 25 years of use and theoretically become ancient. And so that the trees are not only preserved but even increase through the use of a Keinachtsbaum®, we plant a new tree for every order.

Cut greens in 5-kilo bundles are already a standard item. You can get them from your local Christmas tree seller, directly from the producer, or conveniently from our online shop.
If you prefer to buy locally, be sure to pay attention to freshness! In retail, cut greens are often harvested as early as October and will age very quickly if you bring them into a warm room. We therefore strongly recommend buying directly from a producer. This is the only way to ensure the necessary quality and help them make good use of their waste.

By the way, we only harvest the cut greens in our shop 2-3 days before shipping to ensure maximum shelf life.
Since we source 100% of our cut greens from dedicated cut green areas, you can also be sure that the tree from which the branches for your Keinachtsbaum® come will truly continue to live.
In addition, we offer different varieties of cut greens, so you can vary the shelf life, color, and scent.

Oh, and if you are among the lucky people who own their own conifers or have permission from a forester to cut greens yourself in the forest, that is, of course, also possible.

We cannot stop emphasizing this: Freshness, freshness, freshness! The No-Christmas Tree® will only work if the cut greenery was harvested shortly before use. Therefore, it's best to buy directly from the grower or at least ask when the branches were cut. Cut greenery from discounters, hardware stores, etc., is almost always far too old. Furthermore, the branches should not be too thick, ideally no more than 2cm. It would also be good if some of the branches are at least 70cm long (for the lower part) and the branches are generally not longer than 1m. The recommended quantities are as follows:

Up to 100cm – 5 Kg
Up to 180cm – 10 Kg
Up to 250cm – 15 Kg

We are working on simplifying your access to a local cut greenery supply in the future.

Just as every person is unique, so too is every tree. Therefore, it is impossible to give precise information about durability. This applies to every normal Christmas tree, as well as to the branches. However, the freshness of the cut greens used is definitely crucial. If you buy your cut greens directly from the producer or from our online shop, your Keinachtsbaum® should last just as long as a real fir tree. Periods of 2-4 weeks are easily possible.
If you want to display your tree for longer, simply treat it to another set of branches or use Nobilis cut greens.

The short answer: As a rule, the cut greenery in our shop is completely untreated!

You can find out why we cannot yet offer organic cut greenery and why there may be minimal residues in individual exceptional cases in our blog article.

Should it be treated, we test it to ensure that all foodstuff limits are met. So you are welcome to feed your animals with your cut greenery or eat it yourself – no washing necessary!

You've never put up your own (almost) real tree before? No problem. Grab the family and make it a shared experience.
Duration: 30 - 120 minutes. Depending on how experienced you are and how leisurely you take it. Of course, it also depends on the variant you choose and how opulent you want your dream tree to be. Each Keinachtsbaum@ also comes with detailed instructions (download assembly instructions). To give you an idea of how it all works, we've shot an assembly video with lots of tips & tricks:

Not for the actual assembly. For sharpening the cut foliage, we recommend a pocket knife (remember to always carve away from your body!) and a pair of secateurs. Both can be conveniently ordered from our shop.

The Keinachtsbaum® is manufactured in a small factory in Germany.

The Keinachtsbaum® is a high-quality, solid piece of furniture. With proper care, it should last for many decades and, ideally, bring joy to your great-grandchildren. We have models that have been assembled and disassembled 30-40 times and still show not the slightest sign of wear. In short: The Keinachtsbaum® is the last Christmas tree you'll ever need 🙂

A Keinachtsbaum® can be decorated like a normal tree, but we recommend not exceeding a total permanent load of 25 kilograms, including tree ornaments.

We strongly advise against using candles or open flames for the Keinachtsbaum®!
As beautiful as real fire is, the combination of an open flame and a resin-soaked, dry conifer is not a good idea!

The Keinachtsbaum® has a delivery time of 3-4 days. However, we recommend not waiting until just before the holidays to place your order, as we only produce a limited number of Keinachtsbäume® each year, and they sold out quickly last year. For cut greens, you can simply specify your desired date and receive your branches exactly when you need them. For sustainability reasons, we will then ship the Keinachtsbaum® and the cut greens together.
To guarantee delivery in time for the holidays, we will close our shop on December 19th at 00:00!
